MPI Toronto Leads to Increased Industry Knowledge

My MPI membership offer’s me the opportunity to develop a learning path that ensures that my professional development at each stage of my career matches with today’s and future trends and best practices. MPI Toronto Offers Great Networking Opportunities

Being an MPI member is one of my most valuable sales tools! MPI provides an on-going variety of valuable opportunities to network with fellow meeting professionals. As a sales person, to be able to connect face to face with current, past and potential clients all in one location at any given MPI event plays a key role in my ability to identify new business, close business as well as continue to build current relationships and partnerships. As an MPI Toronto Chapter member, not only can you network in person, you can also connect with members online on the MPI Toronto Chapter Blog and Group Space! I’m honoured to be an MPI member and associated with such a professional, passionate, dedicated and exciting network of individuals, all working towards a common goal of contributing to the success of our industry!”

MPI Toronto and Education

Joining MPI has given me the opportunity to contribute to the Toronto Chapter by volunteering my time to serve on various committees and has proven to be a valuable choice. Serving on a committee has allowed me the chance to network with other senior event practitioners, learn valuable skills, and develop leadership experience.

MPI has also been a catalyst for my career, in that it has enabled me to rapidly progress by earning my CMP designation, through the support of my chapter’s CMP study groups. Being a part of an MPI committee has also provided me with the satisfaction of giving back to my Chapter and the MPI organization, which have supported me and my personal achievements.”

Cameal Prince CMP, Director of Events, Financial Executives International

Being involved in MPI as a member and a volunteer has been very beneficial in many ways; from networking (meeting new people and making lifelong friends) to diverse educational opportunities (studying for and passing my CMP exam, thanks to a fabulous chapter-led study group) and peer support (there's always someone to call if you have a meetings-related question or need help brainstorming new ideas). MPI Toronto Chapter is blessed with a very diverse, active and passionate membership that is always willing to support other members and is always just a phone call or email away.”

Stefanie Wolf CMP, Event Planner, Canadian Event Solutions

MPI Toronto Supports Leadership Development

When you think about it, leadership skills apply to every aspect of our lives. Whether we're at work, participating in social or recreational activities, or managing our lives with our families, so many of our actions and decisions reflect our personal style of leadership. A wonderful way to develop that leadership style and to gain valuable experience is through volunteerism. Volunteering allows us to not only learn from colleagues, but also to hone our leadership skills in a safe and supportive environment. Being a committed volunteer, even if the extent of our involvement is limited, offers each of us an opportunity to learn about and further refine the type of leader we are.”

Janet Victor M.Sc. CMP, Pricipal, Eventives Conference and Event Managment

I have been a committee member for 13 years, during that time being on different committees has allowed me to gain the knowledge to build a business, and to growing my leadership skills. As a member, one of my goals was to be the president of the MPI Toronto Chapter. I had the support to do this from members, mentors and leaders in our industry of the Chapter. Now as a past president, I continue to support others in their goals. This allows me to give back to a association that has given me so much.”
